Let Your Voice Be Heard

MS, CBD, CNS and ECS What Does It Mean? March Is CBD awareness month as well as MS awareness. According to the MS Society “Multiple sclerosis is a disease that impacts the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves, which make up the central nervous system and controls everything we do. The exact cause of MS is unknown, but we do know that something triggers the immune system to attack the CNS. The resulting damage to myelin, the protective layer insulating wire-like nerve fibers, disrupts signals to and from the brain. This interruption of communication signals causes unpredictable symptoms such as numbness, tingling, mood changes, memory problems, pain, fatigue, blindness and/or paralysis. Everyone’s experience with MS is different and these losses may be temporary or long lasting.”

So, let’s talk about CBD  the endocannabinoid system and multiple sclerosis. CBD is known as an immunomodulator, it regulates the immune system and its responses. So, by telling the immune system to calm down it can help with immune system disorders. My mom has MS so this is a subject that is near and dear. I have witnessed personally how CBD can alleviated the spasticity and muscle contractions in my mom’s symptoms. As well as testimony from other MS patients. We at Banner Harvest have supported and sponsored the MS Society as a company since we started in business in 2019. There has been research and studies done that supports this and moves the results from anecdotal to reality.

Different strains of cannabis have different cannabinoid profiles. As an example, it is how we legally differentiate hemp from marijuana according to the 2018 farm bill. For a plant to be deemed hemp it has to have below .3% delta 9 THC which is only one of over 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, alternately marijuana is a cannabis plant with delta 9 THC above .3% which is the cannabinoid associated with the high or psychoactive effect produced when consuming cannabis. CBD or cannabidiol has no intoxicating effect. The benefits of using cannabinoids such a CBD and THC have been proven in studies and are no longer just anecdotal.  CBD may also help prolong the onset of symptoms as well as delay the progression of MS  ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases due to its neuroprotective properties.

DID YOU KNOW

MS Patients have been taking the risk for years to buy cannabis illegally to self-medicate prior to 2018 when it became legal federally to get CBD as well as some forms of THC that are derived from hemp. Unfortunately, hemp and hemp derived cannabinoids are in jeopardy right now in Florida. The senate has passed a bill that will limit access to this God given plant that is redefining the meaning of hemp that contradicts the federal farm bill of 2018.

It is being presented as a bill to protect children which they already passed in June of 2023 by restricting it to over 21, child resistant packaging and labeling that does not attract children with shapes, colors or flavoring. As well as full panel testing. These Bills HB1613 and SB1698 are not regulation; it is prohibition. If this bill passes Florida farmers will not be able to grow hemp with the limitations of THC that would be imposed, manufacturers will not be able to legally hold the concentrated extract that is diluted to make full spectrum CBD oil. The milligram limits will make the products ineffective and package
limitations are not reasonable at 10mg per package.

We need your help to save the hemp and CBD industry. Please write and call our lawmakers to vote NO on these bills. We are not against regulation, but it needs to make sense and this will shut down a whole industry and in turn hurt the consumer who will lose access to safe and effective plant medicine. Below is a link to all of the House Representatives with contact information. If you or anyone you know and love uses CBD to help them for any reason please take to time to make your voice heard.

BANNER HARVEST
At Banner Harvest, we are passionate about CBD and believe it is a great natural alternative for many people. We strive to offer the highest quality options, unsurpassed in efficacy and consistency. All our products are farm to table which means grown, formulated, and made here in-house from scratch. We take great pride in our quality control; each individual product and batch is tested by ACS an accredited 3rd party laboratory. We test not only for potency, but also the full panel, which includes pesticides, residual solvents, microbials, and heavy metals. Each product includes a QR code which has the COA (certificate of analysis) which is the lab analysis report listing test results. It is critical for the consumer to understand and demand access to a product’s test. Many CBD brands being sold are white labeling or private labeling their products from unregulated overseas sources or huge corporate distributors who do not have any quality or efficacy standards and worst of all, supply an altered COA or no testing at all. Trust your source.

With over 40 years of combined experience in the legal cannabis industry, our team at Banner Harvest strives not only to educate but also to create the highest quality Hemp and CBD products in the market. We conduct full panel lab testing at a 3rd-party DEA lab in Florida to ensure accuracy in formulation and labeling, ensuring you can trust the purity, safety, and efficacy of every product. With over 15 years of experience in patient advocacy and education, Banner Harvest stands as the 1st and only CBD company in the state accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Passionate about our work, we aim to share our knowledge. Education is our tool to undo over 100 years of propaganda against this God-given natural plant medicine.
